Sisters of St. Joseph, a Blue Community

Having taken the "Blue Community" pledge in 2017, we have focused our attention to raising awareness about the Sacredness of our gift of Water, and encouraging all to do whatever we can to preserve it for the next generations.  We join the council of Canadians in their efforts to keep the control of our water in public hands so that all have access to it.  Privatization  of water can lead to the poor being denied access to water as we have seen in many places on the planet. We pledge ourselves to no longer purchase or use bottled water and we join others who work to have bottled water fazed out in Canada in 10 years.  We also encourage investment in infrastructure in order to make sure that our tap water remains safe for consumption.
